The core of the HDR47E brightness performances is an array of 2202 independently controlled high power white LEDs as back lighting system.
Each LED emission level is controlled, consistently with the image on the LCD panel and with the specific light spreading function of the optical layers, in order to give the most appropriate brightness contribution to the final image.
When dealing with contrast figures of HDR47E series monitors, their specific hardware peculiarities must be taken into account.
Full ON full OFF contrast is virtually infinite: when a totally dark image is visualized, the monitor can turn the relevant LEDs off, resulting in a zero value light level.
Reliability is really important for any working tool. The HDR47 is equipped with a very powerful LED array that generates a significant amount of heat. It is well known how LEDs lifetime decreases with temperature. Moreover, the spectral emission distribution of LEDs is a function of the working temperature. Thus, thermal management was a crucial point in the design of HDR47, in order to respect the LED specifications and to guarantee the uniformity of brightness and colorimetric values over time.
